Relacionar
Have / get something done
Usamos have / get + objeto + participio.
- We had the locks changed after the break-in.
- She is getting her laptop repaired.
| Tiempo | Ejemplo |
|---|---|
| Presente habitual | I have the filters checked every spring. |
| Pasado | I had the filters checked yesterday. |
| Acción en curso | I am having the filters checked. |
| Perfecto | I have had the filters checked. |
She had her wallet stolen.
- have + persona + infinitivo sin to: I had the assistant print the itinerary.
- get + persona + to + infinitivo: I got the assistant to print the itinerary.
Compara I had the itinerary printed: aquí enfocamos el documento que recibe la acción. No confundas had something done con el past perfect: en I had repaired the lock, el sujeto realizó la reparación; en I had the lock repaired, normalmente la encargó.
Pasiva impersonal y sujeto elevado
| Estructura | Ejemplo |
|---|---|
| It + pasiva + that + oración | It is believed that the tunnel is unsafe. |
| Sujeto + pasiva + infinitivo | The tunnel is believed to be unsafe. |
- Situación simultánea o posterior: The talks are expected to continue.
- Actividad en curso: They are believed to be negotiating.
- Acción anterior: They are believed to have reached an agreement.
- Acción anterior recibida por el sujeto: The agreement is believed to have been signed.
La relación se mide desde el verbo de información, también si está en pasado: He was thought to have left significa que su salida se consideraba anterior a aquella creencia.
Truco: en The documents are said to have been destroyed, los documentos reciben la acción.
