Completa los huecos con una sola palabra. Además de preposiciones y auxiliares, necesitas reconocer estructuras que abarcan varias palabras: not only… but also… o would rather… than…. Lee el contexto para interpretar las relaciones entre ideas.
Busca los dos extremos de la estructura
Un hueco puede depender de una palabra lejana. En hardly had we sat down when the lights went out, el conector when se relaciona con hardly, aunque haya un sujeto y un verbo entre ambos.
Estructuras útiles:
- Concesión: despite + nombre / gerundio frente a although + oración.
- Condición: as long as, unless, provided that.
- Relativos: whose expresa posesión; who / that pueden referirse a personas en relativas especificativas.
- Preposición + gerundio: insist on checking, succeed in finding.
- Correlaciones: neither… nor…, no sooner… than….
Comprueba la categoría que falta: después de una preposición normalmente no encaja un infinitivo con to.
